Two Prison Officers Charged With Trafficking

The Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service advises that at around 5pm on December 25th, 2021, during an intelligence-based search at the Main Gate, Golden Grove Prison, two black bags containing eleven (11) packets of cigarettes and two (2) lighters were discovered in a Prison Service vehicle.

There were five (5) occupants in the vehicle, including the driver. The Arouca Police were contacted and a further search of the occupants was conducted, where three (3) additional packets of cigarettes were found on Prisons Officer II #2033, Kenneth Forgenie, who has over twenty-seven years of service.

All occupants were escorted to the Arouca Police Station for further enquiries, which resulted with the aforementioned, together with Prisons Officer I #3656, John Felician, who has over fourteen (14) years of service, being charged for trafficking.

Commissioner of Prisons, Mr. Dennis Pulchan praised the tireless and relentless efforts of the officers involved in the exercise as the measures implemented to detect and apprehend traffickers continue to be a success. Further, he warned all persons involved in the nefarious act that their days are numbered and will feel the full brunt of the law when caught.
