The Caribbean Employers’ Confederation and the Caribbean Congress of Labour have signed and launched a regional joint position document to address Gender-Based Violence at the workplace.
The organisations said the document has been a work in progress throughout the last few months, but they are confident employers now have a ‘toolbox’ at their disposal for all employees to be protected.
President of the Caribbean Employers’ Confederation, Wayne Chen, said the policy will be disseminated to all labour organisations in the region, but shared some concerns with its implementation.
He shared the opinion that the younger generation are the ones already sensitive to the issue of Gender-Based Violence.
