Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi is calling on the Joint Trade Union Movement (JTUM) to provide its detailed recommendations regarding Government’s Public Sector Vaccination Policy.
The Attorney General sent a 16-page letter to JTUM on Friday, responding in detail to the many questions posed by the Labour Movement.
Among the assurances given by the AG:
*Government’s vaccination for the public sector is not a requirement for international funding;
*nor is it an IMF/World Bank conditionality to downsize the public sector workforce.
In the letter, the Attorney General noted that the operationalisation of the intended legislation can only be achieved if it is passed by both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
He said despite JTUM not providing any form of specific recommendation, other stakeholders have provided useful input which is being factored in the legislative drafting process.
