Twenty new Attorneys have been appointed to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to address staff shortages and assist in improving its function of prosecutions.
Attorney General Reginald Armour says on assuming office, he was briefed by DPP Roger Gaspard on several issues being faced with regards to understaffing and space.
He says after several discussions, 20 lawyers were selected to remedy the issue and believes they will greatly assist the DPP’s Office to now carry out its main function.
Meanwhile AG Armour continues to push for this country to adopt the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) as its final court, adding that it will be part of his legislative agenda in the new Parliamentary term.
