Ambassador Dennis Francis Takes Oath As President Of UN General Assembly

Trinidad and Tobago’s Dennis Francis today took the Oath of Office as President of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Ambassador Francis has made history as this is the first time that a Trinidad and Tobago National is holding the position.

During his one year Presidency, the new President will preside over high-level meetings, shape the priorities of the General Assembly, and will play a crucial role in facilitating negotiations among Member States.

Ambassador Francis was elected as the 78th President of the UN General Assembly on June 1st.
