TTO cyclists had another tough day as the Pan American Junior Cycling Championships ended after four days of exciting action at auction Olympic Park in Paraguay.
In the women’s elite keirin, Makaira Wallace gave another valiant effort as she finished 9th overall. The Colombian pair of Nathalya Martinez and Stefany Cuadrado continued their dominance and again finished one-two. UA’s Vidya Derma was third.
Among the elite men, the TTO pair of Syndel Samaroo and Raul Garcia finished seventh and ninth respectively. Argentina’s Alejo Betique, Colombia’s Fransisco Jaramillo and Venezuela’s Alverto Torres all mounted the rostrum in that order.
Five cyclists and three officials traveled to the four-day Championships and will return home this week with many valuable lessons learnt.
