Arima Hospital Recommissioned

The Arima Hospital was recommissioned on Sunday and officially handed over to the community for use as a primary and secondary medical facility.

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh and other health officials were present on Sunday for the handover. Members of the Carib community were also invited to bless the facility. The Arima Hospital formed part of this country’s COVID-19 parallel health care system during the pandemic.

Earlier this year, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley announced the intention to dismantle the parallel care system. The Point Fortin hospital was the first to be decommissioned. The Tacarigua step down facility has also been decommissioned.
