A one-month old baby is among five children who are currently being treated for complications of the COVID-19 virus at hospital.
Senior Paediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist at the North Central Regional Health Authority, Dr. Joanne Paul, confirmed the data during Wednesday’s COVID-19 Health Update. Dr. Paul said the virus is now affecting two groups of children, one of which is babies and those with chronic diseases. The second group includes asymptomatic children who Dr. Paul describes as having incidental COVID-19.
Since the start of the pandemic, 342 children have been admitted to to the parallel health system to be treated for the virus.
