Beach Camp Agricultural Homestead Programme Launched In Palo Seco

Phase One of the Beach Camp Agricultural Homestead Programme was launched in Palo Seco on Monday.

This is a partnership with the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government and the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service.

The Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government says the initiative represents a holistic approach to agricultural development, designed to address diverse local needs while championing environmental preservation and youth empowerment. It further states the Beach Camp Agricultural Homestead Programme is poised to offer invaluable training and developmental opportunities in agriculture to our young generation.

According to the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service, the Beach Camp Agricultural Homestead Programme is intended to provide training for 100 youths between the ages of 16 and 35, in what has been defined as “vertical and horizontal hydroponics of vegetables.”

The output from this project will be utilised as supplemental meal provisions for other youth programmes such as MYPART and the Civilian Conservation Corps whose participants will be housed at the Beach Camp Facility in Palo Seco.
