Best Village: Using Culture To Unify

Government remains committed to improving the Annual Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition.

This, from Minister of Sport and Community Development, Shamfa Cudjoe, who delivered the Feature Address during the Prize Giving Ceremony held at Queen’s Hall on Wednesday night.

Minister Cudjoe said the competition, which is now in its 59th year, is geared toward promoting this country’s culture and fostering youth development. In extending congratulations to the participants, she encouraged those who have become part of the Best Village family to continue to help the competition grow.

Noting there were challenges with hosting the competition during the Covid-19 pandemic, she said she is hopeful when they celebrate turning 60 in 2023, that it will be a grand event.

She shared that her Ministry is doing all that it can to ensure the competition remains alive and called on those involved to do the same.
