Buccoo Village Council Apologises For Easter Tuesday Entertainment

The Buccoo Village Council has taken full responsibility and apologised to all who took offence to the main entertainment portion of the Easter Tuesday Goat and Crab Race Festival.

Responding to criticism on social media, the Village Council, through a media release, explained the sharp decline in youth participation and engagement, and additional data indicating the absence of younger children by 9:30pm, informed the Council in making the decision to engage the evening’s advertised entertainer later that night. The Council also stated that the entertainers were cautioned as to the use of obscene language during their performances.

The release noted that this year’s event was the largest attendance in over a decade and incident-free. However, the Council assured that the views expressed by some persons will be used to guide the planning of future events.
