The Secondary Road Rehabilitation and Improvement Company (SRRIC) is assuring that it will hit the ground running as soon as the “build out” of the company is completed.
During the budget presentation in September last year, Finance Minister Colm Imbert announced SRRIC as a new State Company which had been capitalised with an initial $100 million with its own Board of Directors.
During a Joint Select Committee on Land and Physical Infrastructure, Chairman of that Board, Herbert George, confirmed that they are nearing the completion of the “building out” process and will be able to undertake additional work following that process.
Mr. George also noted that works are afoot to develop a program to have the public submit complaints or suggestions for road repairs.
Mr. George stated that the Secondary Road Rehabilitation and Improvement Company Ltd is at this time dependent on the PURE Unit of the Works Ministry for technical expertise and equipment, but is hopeful it would be a standalone company to carry out its own road repairs soon.
