The T&T Chamber of Business and Commerce is in full support of the initiative taken by the government to implement safe zones.
In a statement following announcements made by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley on Thursday, the Chamber said these are practical and achievable temporary measures with minimal disruption to restart our economy safely until the public health threat is behind us.
The Chamber added it believes this is the most effective mechanism to protect the unvaccinated while allowing those who are vaccinated to take part in higher-risk activities.
Additionally, the Chamber is of the view the initiative may create some amount of burden and cost for businesses, but these are relatively reasonable compared to the significant cost of ongoing disruption and uncertainty in our economy.
Come Monday 11th October, restaurants, gyms, casinos, and cinemas will be opened to cater for fully vaccinated persons only.
