Caribbean Airlines was forced to make an emergency landing on Monday night.
BW Flight 1451 from Tobago had left Crown Point at 9:31PM but encountered difficulty.
At the time, passengers were instructed to assume the crash position after the pilot declared an emergency.
A passenger caught the incident on video as the passengers were ordered over and over again to Brace. The ART-72-600 twin turbo-prop aircraft, landed safely at the Piarco International Airport and all required operational procedures followed regarding passengers and crew.
The airline said in a statement that flight BW 1541 was required to make an emergency landing, but didn’t indicate specifically what the issue was, adding however that the aircraft will be taken out of rotation for an inspection to be conducted.
There was another recent incident with a CAL flight which experienced technical difficulties – when a warning light came on in the cockpit. However that aircraft also landed safely at the Piarco International Airport.
