Caribbean Airlines has confirmed that flight BW 483 of December 13th, bound for Piarco International Airport, diverted to Puerto Rico due to a medical emergency.
Videos of stranded passengers communicating with airline officials at the Puerto Rican airport were shared to social media on Tuesday.
In a recent statement from CAL, it said all stranded passengers and crew have been provided with transportation, meals and hotel accommodation in Puerto Rico. A new flight time for the passengers has also been scheduled for midnight December 15th.
Earlier, CAL said due to restrictions in the territory and other regulatory issues, a second relief aircraft was sent from Trinidad to Puerto Rico to bring the passengers to Trinidad, however, unfortunately, there were mitigating circumstances outside of the control of the airline and the second aircraft was unable to leave Puerto Rico.
