Head of the Fathers’ Association, Rhondall Feeles, is asking that more assistance for NGOs and advocates be given from Government Agencies and Ministries.
He says some clients have had trouble with Grants and other handouts. Sometimes they are unaware of how to navigate the Government systems set up to help them. A part of the challenge is that some public officials are moved around and as a result, their promises are not immediately honoured by those who are left behind due to mix ups with official paper work.
Mr. Feeles says when advocates put their name out to help and no Government assistance is forthcoming, it is left up to them to struggle to deal with the loans incurred. Going forward he is pleading with Government to increase their organisation for assistance to NGOs and consequently the public.
