An initiative aimed at reducing the burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in the Caribbean was today launched by the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Wellness Jamaica, under the name, “Caribbean Moves.”
Jamaica’s Minister of Health and Wellness, Christopher Tufton, said the things that make up the Caribbean, like friendliness and enjoyment, can often be the things that cause individuals to develop NCDs.
Vice President of the Healthy Caribbean Coalition , Dr. Kenneth Connell, said the coalition sees the initiative as a way to ensure that all groups of society are monitored.
