CG United Regional Super 50 Tournament: Red Force Beat Windward Islands Volcanoes

The T&T Red Force sealed a comfortable six-wicket win from their second fixture of the CG United Regional Super 50 Tournament against the Windward Islands Volcanoes at the Queen’s Park Oval earlier today.

The Windwards took first strike mounting 254 for 9 from their 50 overs.

The destructive Johnson Charles top scored with 87 from 69 balls with support from Alick Athanaze getting 39.

Yannic Cariah was the pick of the bowlers grabbing four wickets for 57 runs.

The Red Force, in response, had a solid start of 111 for the first wicket. Tion Webster departed on 40, but it was Kjorn Ottley who continued to score at good pace, bringing up his century in the process. T&T’s chase was calculated under the guidance off Ottley, who finished on 134 not out.

The home team celebrated victory in the 48th over, closing on 255 for 4.

T&T next face Guyana Harpy Eagles on Saturday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba from 1pm.
