Works are underway for the upgrade of the Charlotteville Jetty.
The Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and Urban Development said the project is a response to the needs of the cruise tourism industry to have a more efficient and safer berthing for cruise liners entering the bay.
It explained vessels being serviced along the existing jetty experienced some difficulty during the recently concluded cruise season.
The project which began on June 4th is estimated to be completed in thirty days, barring good weather and will see the widening of the jetty from 5 by 20 feet to 7 by 37 feet.
