Fans of the Chutney Soca Monarch competition will be able to access this year’s Final across a host of international mediums.
The announcement of the brand’s syndication was made by its Chief Executive Officer, George Singh.
As the Chutney Soca Monarch competition celebrates its 30th year, Mr. Singh said the show has signed one of the most significant deals in its lifetime.
“The show of the competition and concert will be distributed internationally by a US-based international film group. Louis Eloy and Debra Lyons of IFG specialise in the finance and distribution of filmed entertainment worldwide. Together with its partner, David Copeland of Global Media Digital TV, IFG reaches around the globe in television distribution syndication on both digital and linear platforms.”
Mr. Singh noted that nine finalists from the Semi Final round of the show will compete on March 1st against the reigning monarch, Rick Ramoutar.
“The show will be available through Apple TV, Roku, Android TV, Google Play, Amazon Firestick and more. You’ll have to stay tuned for the updates on that because what we’re going to roll out is very, very big.”
Chairman of the National Carnival Commission, Winston ‘Gypsy’ Peters, applauded the promoters of the competition for keeping it running for three decades.
“The innovation that we have as Trinidadians and Tobagonians, today we boast of Soca, another innovation of what we started. We boast of Chutney Soca. We boast of Ragga Soca, and I’m sure we have many other music to come.”
The Chutney Soca Monarch Finals will be hosted at its traditional venue at Skinner Park in San Fernando.
