The company Sonny Beharry and Sons has extended condolences to the family of Shakile Douglas, who died suddenly at Paria Fuel Trading Company Limited’s Pointe-a-Pierre facility on October 21st, 2022.
Twenty eight year old Shakile was welding a roofing frame of an office container at Paria, when he complained of feeling unwell and requested to take a break. Reports are that his colleagues observed that he was in physical distress and called for emergency medical assistance. Despite all attempts made, Shakile was found to be unresponsive and was subsequently pronounced dead by the relevant authorities.
An autopsy revealed that he died suddenly as a result of hypertensive complications.
His employer, Sonny Beharry and Sons, has since urged everyone to conduct regular medical screening, exercise regularly, and maintain a healthy diet.
