Consultations have started for the New City of Scarborough Project being undertaken by the Tobago House of Assembly.
At the first Consultation on Wednesday, Lead Architect Joshua Stewart said he was approached about one year ago by the current administration to spearhead the plan. Providing an illustrative explanation of the face lift for Scarborough, he said 38 acres of land would be reclaimed at the existing port for the expansion of the berthing of cruise ships and other facilities.
The team also plans to redevelop green spaces in Scarborough and environs. Among the other plans, two hundred and ninety housing units with hotels and shops would be constructed along with the restoration of James Park to reflect its history. The team stressed the plans are not set in stone and would take note of all suggestions before the project begins.
