Eighty-one police officers were promoted by Commissioner of Police, Erla Harewood-Christopher, on Tuesday.
Four officers were promoted to the rank of Inspector, and 77 officers to the rank of Sergeant of Police.
Commissioner Christopher congratulated the officers, stating that the promotions were much more than an elevation. She said they were earned by the officers through their consistent hard work and should allow for an increase in their morale, with a view to being ambassadors of greatness on behalf of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
She reminded them that they step into roles that carry even greater responsibility, particularly in these challenging times when crime rates are high, and we are working under a State of Emergency.
