The College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) celebrated over 700 new graduates, who received their diplomas, certificates, associates and bachelors degrees from over 80 diverse programmes on Saturday.

Future Ready, Future Leaders, was the theme of the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) graduation ceremony held on Saturday evening.

Chief Executive Officer of Teleois Systems Limited, Ronald Hinds had the honour of offering the graduands some keen words of advice. Mr. Hinds said the landscape in which these young people are entering is fundamentally different from what previous generations experienced. He noted this future is shaped by rapid technological advances, reflecting an environment of constant change requiring adaptability.

Minister in the Ministry of Education, Lisa Morris-Julian said, modern, relevant, quality and equitable education for all through a diverse segment of our population, can be seen in these 700 plus graduates. She made a call to all graduates for preparation, innovation and a commitment to becoming sound and moral leaders.

“You have artificial intelligence, renewable energy, you have boldness and creativity, you have to deal with climate change and digital transformation. You have to reshape industries and societies, but I am asking you to look at all these so called challenges as opportunities to innovate and aspire all those coming behind you.”

COSTAATT President, Dr. Keith Nurse encouraged the new graduates to be resilient, as the journey ahead will not be without obstacles. He said, in those moments, resilience becomes your greatest asset.

“As graduates of COSTAATT, you have been equipped with the skills and knowledge to innovate but remember, creativity is not limited to technology or business. As such I want to recommend to you that you embrace your creativity, challenge conventional thinking and dare to dream big. The future belongs to those who are willing to explore uncharted territory.”

The graduates from over 80 diverse programmes are being encouraged to step into a rapidly changing world, with the knowledge and skills acquired, to drive innovation, solve world problems and contribute to the growth and development of Trinidad and Tobago.
