The St. Lucia Kings had a quick rebound after losing their first match of the Republic Bank CPL to grab a 54-run win over the Barbados Royals.
Batting first at Gros Islet, the Kings amassed 201 for 6 from their 20 overs. Newcomer to the team, Sean Williams, top scored with 47 with contributions of 46 from skipper Faf Du Plesis and 30 from Johnson Charles. Jason Holder was top notch will the ball, grabbing four wickets for 38 runs.
In response, the Barbados Royals were grappling for runs at 46 for 5. All-rounder Nyeem Young stood his ground late in the order, with a rapid 48 from 39 balls. Mathew Forde grabbed 3 wickets for 12 runs with the remaining six bowlers sharing one wicket each. The Royals were eventually dismissed for 147 in 20 overs.
The Trinbago Knight Riders are in action tomorrow Saturday versus the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots at 10am Eastern Caribbean time.
