Crime Round-Up: Missing Woman’s Body Found, Man Charged For Robbery With Aggravation

The body of 43 year old Kareen Ramlal, who has been missing since July, was discovered on Sunday afternoon.

According to the police, a joint search conducted between the Hunters Search and Rescue team and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) discovered Ms. Ramlal’s body at Bobb Trace, Penal Road.

Police say her personal effects was also found nearby.

Ramlal an ex-murder convict of Orange Grove Trace, Pasea, Tunapuna, was last seen on the 31st of July.

Last December, Ramlal, was released from prison after serving her sentence for the murder of her common-law husband, Anil Jadoo, in 2006. In January 2021, she, along with two others, pleaded guilty to killing Jadoo on May 3rd, 2006 by first trying to poison him with a meal of stewed goat and then bludgeoning him to death.

On her release, Ramlal got a job as a security guard.

In other crime news, a 19 year old man is expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate today charged with robbery of a Venezuelan salesman which occurred last Friday.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, AZIM SHAH, of Southern Main Road, Pointe-à-Pierre, was charged last Saturday with robbery with aggravation.

Police reports, say sometime around 10.20 am, a Venezuelan salesman was plying his trade at his business place along the Southern Main Road, Pointe-A-Pierre, where he was allegedly approached by two men, one armed with a firearm and another with a wooden baton.

The proprietor told detectives that the men allegedly robbed him of several household appliances, cell phones and electronics and later escaped on foot.
