A popular local social media content creator and comedian was killed at Trincity Mall on Saturday.
According to reports, Kevon Solomon, popularly known as Yank Boss, was fatally shot while seated in his vehicle in the car park at Trincity Mall.
The shooting incident occurred sometime around 5pm.
People in the car park were sent scampering as the gunshots were heard.
Solomon had over 25,000 followers on Instagram and Facebook and over 60,000 followers on Tik Tok.
In other crime news, several suspects were arrested for firearms and ammunition possession during exercises conducted across several Police Divisions on Friday.
Police officers on patrol in downtown Port of Spain arrested a man with a Beretta firearm fitted with a magazine and containing three rounds of 9 millimetre ammunition.
In the Duncan Street district, officers executed a search warrant at a house and found and seized one black and silver 9 millimetre pistol with one magazine containing 10 rounds of 9 millimetre ammunition in the living room area under a couch. One suspect was arrested in connection with the find.
In the Southern Division, police officers went to Diamond Village, where they searched a house and seized a firearm. Five suspects were arrested.
In the Valencia district one suspect was arrested for possession of a Taurus revolver loaded with four rounds of ammunition, one spent shell and seven additional rounds of ammunition.
