The Inflation Rate for October has decreased by 0.4 percent from September 2023 to September 2024. It now stands at 0.2 percent.

The All Items Index calculated from the prices collected for the month of October 2024 was one hundred and twenty-four point four. This represents an increase of 0.3 points, 0.2 percent above the All Items Index for September 2024.

The Index for Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages increased from one hundred and fifty point two in September 2024 to one hundred and fifty point eight in October 2024, reflecting an increase of 0.4 percent.

The general upward rise in the prices moved with the increase in prices for fresh whole chicken, tomatoes, green sweet peppers, parboiled rice, table margarine, fresh carite, fresh king fish, fresh salmon, melon and other chilled or frozen chicken.

The Central Statistical Office says that this increase was offset by general decreases in the prices of irish potatoes, cucumber, carrots, eddoes, ochroes, chive, plantains, garlic, onions and oranges.
