Delta Variant Cases Now At 102

Trinidad and Tobago now has 102 confirmed cases of the highly transmissible COVID-19 Delta variant.

The Ministry of Health on Friday advised of 16 new cases of the Delta Variant of Concern.

Of the 16 new cases, 15 persons had no travel history, and one case is pending epidemiological investigation.

Meanwhile, 322 additional persons have tested Positive for COVID-19. Those results were from samples taken between October 18th to October 21st. The total number of active Positive cases is 4,511.

And four more persons have succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours, taking the COVID-related death toll to 1,633.

The persons were two elderly males, one middle aged male, and one middle aged female.
