Deyalsingh Pledges Continued Commitment to St. Joseph as He Launches Campaign

The People’s National Movement campaign trail was in the constituency of Aranguez/St. Joseph on Tuesday evening, where the candidate, former Member of Parliament Terrence Deyalsingh, hosted his official campaign launch.

Mr. Deyalsingh first won the seat of St. Joseph in 2013.

During his official candidacy launch, he once again pledged to support the positive growth and development of the constituency.

“I have gone to your funerals. I have gone to your weddings. I have gone to your christenings. I have been the only constant. The UNC will come in like Devesh Maharaj is coming in now with trinkets – with trinkets, two footballs, a cricket ball, an all-fours tournament, where was he for the past twelve years? What he built here?”

According to one resident from Aranguez, Mr. Deyalsingh, who served as Minister of Health during the COVID-19 pandemic, remained a true beacon of light for Trinidad and Tobago during a dark time.

“Because of that leadership, Trinidad and Tobago was recognised globally for how we handled the pandemic. That didn’t happen by accident. It happened because Terrence Deyalsingh put people, Terrence Deyalsingh put people before politics.”

PNM Candidate for St. Ann’s East, Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, also took to the podium, speaking to Mr. Deyalsingh’s capability, suitability, and his record of success in Aranguez/St. Joseph.

“It is because he knows the needs of this constituency, and he has been advocating on your behalf. So when we stand here to endorse him and when we stand here to say that he’s already inside, as the people say, it is because of the hard work that Terrence has been doing.”

PNM candidate for La Horquetta/Talparo, Foster Cummings, also lent his voice to the campaign launch, saying Mr. Deyalsingh continues to demonstrate his passion for serving the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
