Former West Indies wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Ramdin has decided to hang up his gloves from international cricket.
The Preysal born athlete made the disclosure on his Instagram page on Friday afternoon.
At age 19, Ramdin made his test debut in 2005 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, his ODI debut also in 2005, and his T20 debut a year later.
At 37 years of age, he accomplished 2,898 runs in 74 tests, 2,200 runs in the ODI format, and 636 runs from 71 T20 encounters.
In May 2014, he was rewarded with the Test captaincy, as West Indies decided to replace Darren Sammy. Ramdin led the Windies in 13 Tests matches.
In his post, he went on to express gratitude to his family for their understanding and support, especially during the many months away from home, while making it known that he is still available for franchise cricket.
