Dozens Arrested And Ticketed For Easter

Dozens of motorists were arrested and ticketed on both Good Friday and Saturday.

A report from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says 10 men were arrested in the Tobago Division and in the North Eastern Division, six fixed penalty notices were issued.

In the Northern Division 23 persons were arrested for breach of traffic sign; failing to wear a seatbelt; parking on a taxi stand; defective tyres; defective fittings; no certificate of insurance and failing to comply.

One of those arrested, a 28-year-old man, was driving under the influence, resisted arrest and assaulted an officer in the execution of his duties.

Commissioner of Police (Ag.), Mc Donald Jacob reminds the public that these exercises are to ensure the safety of every person and to continue to keep the public safe during this holy and festive season.
