Trinidad and Tobago and Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke is hoping to parlay his appointment as head coach of the A-League All Stars into a permanent coaching post.
Earlier this week, the A-League winning Sydney FC captain was named coach of the All Star team that will face Barcelona in a one off friendly at Man United’s Aon training complex.
Yorke who recently completed his UEFA Pro License has applied for the Aston Villa post in the past, but this will be his first coaching job.
In a statement earlier this week Yorke said, “I’m announcing to the world that I’m finally qualified and ready for a leading role.”
After winning the treble with United, Yorke played 22 games and scored 7 goals at Sydney F.C in the 2005/2006 season.
