Minister of Education, Dr. Nyan-Gadsby-Dolly, paid a visit to the Cascade School For The Deaf on Friday to commemorate International Day of Sign Languages.
Celebrated on September 23rd each year, the International Day of Sign Languages is an opportunity to support and protect the linguistic identity and cultural diversity of all deaf people and other sign language users.
The Education Minister who was taught to sign words such as, ‘Trinidad and Tobago’ and ‘thank you,’ took time to read a poem from The EN-able Series, entitled ‘Deaf not Dumb.’
