Leave it up to the customer. This is the response from Minister of Public Utilities Marvin Gonzales in response to the Postal Workers Union, which continues to defend its stance on sending a small brown unsealed envelope to households.
Earlier this week, Minister Gonzales cautioned against this practice, saying it was done to solicit a monetary gift from respective households. The Postal Workers Union has since come out saying it is ‘tradition’ pointing out that the postman or postwoman’s relationship with the communities they serve is a deep one and that the tradition has been ongoing for years. But Mr Gonzales believes this is a ‘dangerous practice’.
