The Ministry of Public Utilities has taken a decision to outsource experienced road paving contractors to do repair works on roadways after they’ve been dug up by the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) to repair pipelines.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Public Utilities, Marvin Gonzales, during Day 3 of the Standing Finance Committee’s examination of the allocations in the Draft Estimates of expenditure in the Parliament on Friday.
Minister Gonzales said after repairs, the roadways should be fully restored in accordance with RIC standards in a seven-day period.
He said thus far, this method for repairs has been efficient for WASA.
