Residents in Barrackpore blocked the streets with burning debris today to express their frustration with the condition of their roadways and lack of water supply.
In response, the Ministry of Works and Transport stated that it is addressing landslips on St. Croix Road and the rehabilitation of Papourie Road in the shortest possible time, but cautioned against such fiery protests since it damages the infrastructure. WASA, meanwhile, has promised to restore water to affected areas tomorrow.
