A 24 year old man has appeared before a Master of the High Court charged with the murder of Omarie Mc Carthy, which occurred on Thursday 24th October, 2024.
Elijah Emmanuel Nock, aka ‘Fish,’ of Port of Spain and Maloney, was also charged with Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, when he appeared before Master Margaret Sookraj-Gosine in High Court North ‘B’, on Monday 9th December, 2024.
The Sufficiency Hearing date has been set for October 17th, 2025.
Mc Carthy, 44, a labourer, of D’Abadie was shot in the vicinity of Building 8, Maloney Gardens, Maloney, on Wednesday 23rd October, 2024, and succumbed to his injuries the following day.
One male suspect was arrested in connection with the matter by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force, on Tuesday 3rd December, 2024.
Investigations were supervised by ASP (Ag.) Victor, W/Insp. Sylvester and Insp. (Ag.) Simon, all of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Two.
Nock was charged with the offences by PC Marash, also of HBI Region Two, on Friday 6th December, 2024, following advice received from Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal, on that same date.
