Gold For Blackman At Worlds

Gold, a colour that can now be defined by the name of one young swimmer from Trinidad and Tobago called Nikoli Blackman.

This, as the three-time Commonwealth Youth Games medallist added Junior World Championships Gold to his ever-growing medal cabinet by winning the Men’s 50M Freestyle earlier today.

Held in Netanya, Israel, Blackman touched the wall first in 22.35 seconds to earn the top spot on the podium. Australia’s Flynn Southam was second in 22.43 seconds, and Italy’s Lorenzo Ballarati completed the top three places.

It has been a stellar year for Blackman that also included a sweep of the Freestyle events at the Commonwealth Youth Games held in Trinidad and Tobago in August where he was his country’s top performer in the Games overall.
