Hayley Matthews top-scored for Mumbai Indians Women but couldn’t help them to a win over UP Warriors Women as the Women’s Premier League continued in Mumbai this weekend.
The Bajan hit 35 in 30 balls at the top of the order as Mumbai Women racked up 127 in their 20 overs.
Issy Wong was close behind with 32, captain Harmanpeet Kaur contributed 25.
Sophie Ecclestone was particularly responsible for the Mumbai tally, she had best figures of three for 15.
The Warriorz reply began shakily they were at 27 for 3 in the seventh over.
Then, in stepped Talia McGrath and Grace Harris who scored 38 and 39 at four and five to send them on their way.
Amelia Kerr took 2 for 22 Matthews and Wong had one each for 26 and 24 respectively
But it was not to be as Warriors reached their target in 19.3 overs for the loss of just five wickets to snap Mumbai’s four match win streak.
Mumbai remains on top the standings with 10 points, Delhi Capitals Women are second on eight, Warriors are third on 6 points.
