Health Sector Workers Receive COVID-19 Ex Gratia Payments

The distribution of ex-gratia payments to health sector workers has begun, and is expected to be completed shortly.

A release from the Ministry of Health stated that these payments are in keeping with the promise made by the Government to health sector workers who gave yeoman service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To date, a total of $198,890,122.00, or over 95% of the estimated ex-gratia payments has been paid out to over 24,000 health sector workers in Trinidad and Tobago – at the Regional Health Authorities and the Ministry of Health. When completed, the total payments are expected to be of the order of $205 million.

The categories of health workers include Medical, Nursing, Allied Health, Administrative, Auxiliary, and Daily-Paid.
