ICC Suspends West Indies Batter Devon Thomas

The ICC has provisionally suspended West Indies batter Devon Thomas, slapping seven charges under its anti-corruption code on him, including “contriving to fix” matches.

Thomas, who was named in the West Indies squad for the forthcoming three-ODI series against the UAE in Dubai, has 14 days to respond.

The charges against Thomas are with regard to his conduct while playing in three franchise-based tournaments: the Lanka Premier League, the Abu Dhabi T10, and the Caribbean Premier League.

In a media statement on Tuesday, the ICC said Thomas had breached the anti-corruption codes at all three tournaments and its Anti-Corruption Unit had been authorised by all three Boards in question – Sri Lanka Cricket, Emirates Cricket BoardB and Cricket West Indies, to conduct the investigation on their behalf.
