There’s been an improvement in the Air Quality Levels around the Beetham Landfill.
This, from the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) which adds that the Air Quality Level, as of 8:30am on April 8th, as recorded at the EMA’s Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station located at Beetham, is now rated as “Very Unhealthy.” The EMA’s statement says however this reading is an improvement over yesterday’s measurements which reached hazardous levels. Despite this, the EMA says extreme caution is still required by all individuals, particularly the elderly, children, and those with respiratory ailments.
Smoke has covered most of the Port of Spain following a fire area which started on Wednesday night at the Beetham landfill.
