She was speaking at a Trade Symposium aimed at strengthening economic and cultural ties between the Caribbean and Africa.
According to a report published by the International Trade Center and African Import Export Bank, the Caribbean private sector is eager to tap into the African commercial markets but is faced with financial and logically challenges.
Trinidad and Tobago has been actively engaging with its partners on the African continent to ensure that strong economic ties are established and, where already existing, reinforced. Trinidad and Tobago has also engaged several African countries to facilitate air transport services. These will positively impact connectivity through increased air cargo and tourism services between the regions.
