With the Easter weekend approaching and Tobago expecting an influx of visitors, the Tobago House of Assembly Division of Food Security assures there will be increased patrols throughout the Buccoo Reef Marine Park.
In a statement on Thursday, the Division said to ensure the protection of this restricted, environmentally sensitive area, the Department of Marine Resources and Fisheries is working with the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service to enforce all relevant safety and environmental laws and policies within the Buccoo Reef Marine Park.
The Division warned that operators in breach of regulations will not be permitted within the Marine Park, and the TTPS or TTCG may take legal action for violators.
