IPL – Royals Out Front

It was a high scoring affair today as the IPL nears its halfway stage, with the Rajasthan Royals taking on the Delhi Capitals.

Batting first, Rajasthan peaked to a high 222 for 2 at the end of their 20 overs. Jos Butler smashed his third century of the season finishing on 116 off 65 balls. His knock included 9 fours and 9 sixes.

The Delhi Capitals needed to maintain 11 runs per over in order to pick up a victory and they tried down to the wire. Rishab Pant top scored with 44 and West Indian Rovman Powell chipped in with a rapid 36 but it simply was not enough as the Capitals ended their innings on 207 for 8 handing the Royals victory by 15 runs. With this win, the Royals leap frogs into first position on the table with 10 points.
