Jereem Richards Misses Out On 400 Metre Final At World Track And Field Championships

The World Athletics Track and Field Championships continued in Budapest, Hungary today and in action for Team Trinidad and Tobago was Jereem Richards in the Men’s 400 Semi Finals.

Competing in Semi Final Heat 1 and looking to book a place in Thursday’s Final, Richards finished fourth and did not advance to the medal round. The man from Point Fortin’s time was 44.76 seconds with the race won by Jamaican Antonio Watson in a Personal Best 44.13 seconds. Runner-up was Vernon Norwood of the United States in a Personal Best 44.26, and third was World Record Holder over the distance Wade Van Niekerk of South Africa in 44.65 seconds.

All three men qualified for the Final.

Trinidad and Tobago athletes will be in action again on Thursday when Keshorn Walcott competes in the Men’s Javelin qualifying, and the Men’s and Women’s Relay Teams compete in the Qualification Heats.
