JetBlue Cuts Flights to Guadeloupe

JetBlue has announced plans to discontinue its service between New York and Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe.

This will significantly affect Guadeloupe’s efforts to attract tourism from the United States with American Airlines being the only American carrier with regular service between Miami and Pointe-a-Pitre.

Air France also provides a periodic non-stop service from Miami.

Guadeloupe, known for having some of the best rums in the world, has one of the most diverse tourism products in the region, from its remarkable culinary scene to a strong yachting offering to an eco-tourism product noted for its volcanos and rainforests.

However, the island lacks medium to large, international-standard branded resorts, making it hard to attract American travelers.
