Steps are being taken to ensure that the position of Information Commissioner is filled.
Deputy National Chief Digital Officer in the Ministry of Digital Transformation Denyse White, in her response to a question posed by Joint Select Committee Member Saddam Hosein on Friday, noted that the Ministry is working closely with the European Union using their connections to connect with data protection and privacy experts to help put processes in place when a Commissioner is selected.
The Information Commissioner will have responsibility for the oversight, interpretation, and enforcement of the Data Protection Act.
