On this day 48 years ago, the Caribbean experienced an act of terrorism labelled the worst in the English-speaking Caribbean. Seventy three persons died when Cubana Airlines Flight 455, a Cuban flight from Barbados to Jamaica, was brought down by a terrorist bomb attack off the coast of Barbados.
A special ceremony in front of a memorial plaque at the Piarco International Airport was held to commemorate the anniversary of the attack.
